Emacs is unfortunately available from at least 3 different paths:
The first path is recommended, from HP-UX 11.00.
The current version is 20.4. The latest is also available there as
emacs-20.5. I am still working on it (with good and bad
consequences).
The second is frozen and maybe slightly more stable. Its version is: 20.3.9 (i.e. it is a pre-release of 20.4). This is now used by the default CDE font panel configuration.
The 3rd is frozen. It is 20.2.
The 4th is not supported. It is easily recognisable as the menu bar has the Motif look-and-feel. It doesn't know about the paths to our configurations and should crash when deleting frames.
Yet another option is Xemacs, available from /tools/contrib/bin. Our various settings do however not support it for now.
