INS/IPS/MS development environment is big containing many powerful
workstations which have many disks installed. These pages provide a
basis for understanding how all important data is backed up in NMS/300
project. Responsibilities and tools used can be found in this
document. There are two main responsibilities:
INS/IPS/MS System Administrator backups
local application related data and
ClearCase VOBs.
INS/IPS/MS System Administrator backups also
Concept Lab environments.
Backups are not as regular as in development
environment, and are usually done only before and after major
changes.
System Support of the APD at Nokia Telecommunications Kilo site takes care of backing up user home directories and system disks. PC environment backups are totally handled by System support of Kilo APD.
Current methods are described in InterLeaf document "/user/snuutine/desktop/Support.fdr/TMS-OS_backups.doc" (chapter 2). Information will be transfered here later...
All software media is kept in
System Administrator's room. Time to time
ClearCase backups should be moved to a safer place.
