Researchers found that the ravens performed worse than the apes
in only one category: spatial intelligence,
where the tests involved remembering where treats were hidden.
This was unexpected.
The authors believe that the ravens may have been reluctant
to show the testers where the food was hidden
because the humans might take it for themselves.
We have to consider that the bird may be trying
to outsmart and trick us.
