The ARM and my 2nd edition are reprinted several times a year. I receive a
fair number of comments from readers of these books and I fix typos and
oter minor details. This is reflected inthe errata sheets I post here
occationally. I can't make any really significant changes because then
the books would become useless as referencec books. In particular, I never
make a change that causes the discussion of a topic to move to a different
page or invalidates an index entry.

To be able to track the work of the ANSI/ISO committee, I have added an
extra chapter at the end each book. In contrast to the rest of the books,
this chapter DO change as the committee work progresses. People with earlier
printings can get this extra chapter via anonymous ftp at world.std.com in
directory AW/stroustrup2e. This is as close as I can get to provide
``free updates'' of my books.

You can recognize a printing by the leading letter (ARM) or digit (2nd)
at the bottom of the page with the ISBN information next. Lower digits/letters
indicate an earlier printing. I don't recall which printings are the absolute
latest but both books are at about the 9th.
